Our expertise
Northern Rockies Air Charter has been flying hunters and fishermen for over 30 years, mostly to remote lakes in Northern BC but also in Yukon and Northwest Territories.
We have a fine knowledge of the lakes and their specificities: predominant winds, type of shore and best places to come ashore, camping spots, species to find around and more.
Choosing Northern Rockies Air, this is choosing the historic and iconic Watson Lake flight service, which longevity is only the reflection of our safety commitment at all levels of the operations.
2 planes = more reliability
With our DHC-2 Beaver, the Canadian STOL bush plane by excellence, and its extended cabin, we can carry 1200 lbs of payload to the most remote places. If this is not enough, our newly acquired Cessna Caravan will make the trick and help you save money. Indeed our Caravan can haul twice as much as the Beaver for 25% cheaper.
Having these 2 floatplanes in our fleet allows for more availability. If one suddenly goes out of service, we can still come and pick you up.
Late pick up flight at Dick Lake BC
2 bases = more options
Newly since 2022, we now operate our Cessna Caravan out of a second base in Muncho Lake BC for the months of July / August.
We hope this can save some of that driving up to Watson Lake and let you enjoy more time in the bush.
It also offers a great alternative to resident hunters willing to hunt in the Muskwa-Kechika area.
